Our wildflower meadow has recently been mown in order to keep it healthy and thriving next year. This may seem counter-intuitive, but mowing helps to keep the grass species under control, while allowing the wildflowers room to grow next year.
In our meadows over the course of the year you can see snowdrops, few flowered leek, tansy, red campion, ox-eye daisies, mallow and many more. Our new information board will be regularly updated with our Wildflower of the Month. Take a look here to see which wildflowers have been chosen in the past.
For now, keep a look out for eye-catching teazel seed heads (pictured), plus white dead nettles, daisies and dandelions, which flower into winter.
