As discussed at this year’s AGM we want to increase volunteer involvement, improve access and inclusion and develop our land management skills as part of our road map towards achieving community ownership.
We are pleased to announce that we are now in position to advertise the post of ‘Community Engagement Worker’ The post is funded through a grant from the Community-Led Activity Fund of the Big Lottery.
The Friends of Easter Craiglockhart Hill are seeking a worker who can:
- Recruit and lead volunteers
- Involve local people in events and activities
- Network with other community groups
- Design ar adapt learning materials
- Use social media for publicity and promotion
We are looking for someone with initiative, creativity, enthusiasm and good people skills. The successful candidate will understand how to balance recreational use and environmental protection in a Local Nature Reserve. The worker will report to our Committee, the hours will be flexible and negotiable with the chosen candidate but will require some weekend working.
