At long last, work is underway at the Craighouse site. The new developers – Quartermile – are already working on site infrastructure and hope to start the conversions of some of the listed buildings in the New Year.

Three areas of woodland will transfer into Council ownership by December next year and this will increase the size of the Local Nature Reserve by more than 50%. There will also be a substantial ‘dowry’ payment which will, we hope, fund path and access improvements. There will be inevitable noise and disruption and restrictions on access but access to the central parkland and to the hill top will be maintained.

The developers have set up a dedicated website (www.craighouse-edinburgh.com) which will report on progress with the work. There is much fuller information on our own website and in our newsletter – let us know what you think about the latest developments and what you think FCWNT should be doing.
