2009 was a year of change for the Craiglockhart Woods Group. After discussions with The Friends of Craiglockhart Nature Trail committee, we agreed to merge our two groups to create a new group:
Friends of Craiglockhart Woods and Nature Trail (FCWNT)
As well as continuing to preserve and improve our local woods, the new group focuses its efforts on conserving and enhancing wildlife and biodiversity in the area. The FCWNT continues to work closely with Edinburgh City Council, Edinburgh Napier University (the landowners) and other relevant organisations whose objectives include the protection and preservation of the Easter Craiglockhart Hill Local Nature Reserve and surroundings.
The merger was approved unanimously at an extraordinary meeting of the two groups on June 8th 2009 held at the Craiglockhart Tennis Centre.
